Ok,my hair is natrually curly,though i regularly straghtned it because its to hard to manage when its curly.

Though i dont want to get it chemacally staghtend because i do, in someway like my hair curly. I want to get a cool, new hair cut. I was thinking about getting bangs but,if my hair is curly,it wont look right? RIGHT??..So please if you have advice on a cute hair style that versital for me,leave a comment. =)

Yeah man, I feel your pain--i did bangs and they've become a bit of a hassle (my hair is curly too). Try some nice long layers--that's what I'm going back to. Start them right around or under your chin and work your way down. It brings body to your hair when you do it curly and it looks awesome when it's straight. Hope this helps ya!

I have long, thick, curly hair, so I am experienced with this stuff....If you want to leave it down I would recommend herbal essences "totally twisted" hair mousse and shampoo and conditioner. You can always straighten it, too. Or you could do braids. You can also get layers to thin out your hair.

braids always worked for me. I'd also use a clip and pull back the front of my hair. Whatever you do, don't give into the ponytail! Ponytails and buns are often an excuse for not having to stress about your hair. However, if you take the time to do something fun and funky, enjoy it! I towel dry it first, then apply half a handful of Fantasia IC, Corrective Response Complex. This stuff is great! It's a very light oil base which goes on the hair damp. I blow dry it all at once. Apply more Fantasia IC. Then I part my hair into sections by twisting it and clamping it down. I use a pick to untangle then use a hot curler to straighten or curl. I never use a comb or brush, it only breaks and snaps my hair. That's it.

I don't use any unnecessary chemicals for straightening my hair. I tried that one time and it cost me dearly.

I have naturally curly hair too. I got it chemically straightened (reverse perm), but it wasn't worth it. I still had to straighten it all the time (it always curled up with moisture). That was a few years ago. Now if I want it straight I just use a flat iron/giant curling iron (only once in a big while cause I don't want damaged hair). Right now my hair is a little longer than shoulder length with layers. I just put hair serum in it and let it go curly. If you want a change of pace try a really short cut; I did that once and it was really cute (also easier to straighten).

I say you straighten it or blow dry it with a volumizing moose and a large round brush or a paddle brush to give it body and movement. Use a nozzle so you can seal the cuticle of your hair, then tease the crown of your hair for extra volume. Add an oil based finishing serum, concentrating on the ends. Something similar to that picture.

Curly hair is a blessing in disguise. You can get the largest variety of looks, if you have the time to straighten your hair. If not, curl control is important. Curls made a big comeback, but making them look good is another story. Sometimes the tangling and blow-drying is enough stress to keep your curly locks frizzy for a while. Follow some of these rules, but for the best results using a diffuser as opposed to a blow dryer is recommended.

Always use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. The more you touch your root, the frizzier it can get. Treat yourself once a month, if possible, to a deep conditioning treatment. It helps control your ends, and replenish what the harsh daily wear takes out.

Take heed if you want to go Blonde or a Platinum Blonde: stripping your hair of its natural color to go lighter makes it dry, and your curls will turn limp and dry.

Use a big toothed comb or a pick when combing out your wet hair. Most of the damage happens when your hair is wet, so use a sealer like BC Bonnicure閳ユ獨 Sealed Ends, before and after you blow-dry. It helps with split ends and frizzy hair.

You really shouldn't brush or comb wavy/curly hair, it breaks up the curls and makes them frizzy, I barely use my hairbrush anymore myself. You're right about using mousse/gel. There are products out in the market specifically for curly hair, good to use. When you blow dry, use a diffuser attachment, it's a lot gentler, specially made for drying curly hair

I have naturally curly hair, and here is what I have to do to make my hair look nice. I use the Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner for curly hair (it is amazing, and it smells wonderful), then, like right after I get out of the shower, I use Confixor by Aveda to put in my hair, then I brush it all out, and I use Herbal Essence Spray Gel, holding strength number 2. I have really really good hair, and it hardly EVER gets frizzy or anything. I personally do not brush my hair after it is dry, and I let my hair air-dry.

First tip: Don't brush or comb your hair! From the way you're describing you hair, it sounds a lot like mine. I have wavy/curly hair too, and the one thing I never do is brush it, because it will separate the strands and make it super poofy/frizzy. Right after you take a shower, use a large blob of leave-in conditioner and massage into your hair. While you massage it in, kind of take handfuls of your hair and smush them against your scalp so that your waves and curls will be more defined. Finally, spray a bit of flexible hair spray and let your hair air dry. It should be frizzy-free. If not, you probably didn't put enough leave in conditioner. I find gel and mousse to be a bit sticky, so that's why I recommend conditioner instead. Good luck! :D

I use a good conditioner Pantene (voted on by consumers) and one or two leave-on conditioners. The most important change I made, however, i ONLY brush my hair after washing/conditioning. I'm happy, my hair is healthy, and it looks better than ever.

My daughter and I both have your kinda hair, we go to a beauty supply store that sells all kinds of black hair care products (we are puerto rican) not like Sally's beauty supply. We use a Leave in Conditioner called PARNEVU with T-TREE, and then we put in Hawaiian Silky Cream Moisturizer curl activator We love this stuff its not greasy, and shapes your curls real nice, another thing we stopped doing is using a regular brush most days we just use our fingers, but if it knots up on us we use a brush with air slot in it , we use the same products to straight dry our hair except for the curl moisturizer, we use the 14 in 1 conditioner, (H.S) now that one is greasy but it works well with a blow dryer and an extra large curling brush, that brush you can get from Sally's. You need protien and a moisturizer. Not one of those "street conditioners" that you can buy in the grocery store. But, a real conditioner. Something by Redken, Mastey, or Sebastian. Go into a quality salon, or call one, make sure its a good one, and ask for their advice.

One way to know that you have a good conditioner is that after using it a couple of times, you don't have to keep using it every time you shampoo your hair.

Just do a little research, and it will save you money in the long run, because you won't be purchasing products that are basically "Downey for hair", and you will love the difference you see in your hair.

It's also very important to use a good shampoo at the same time.

The type you should look for is something on the order of a Power Pack, which will add protien and moisture at the same time. This will more than likely require you to leave it on for 20 minutes.

Soon you will love the new appearance of your hair.

A great book that helped me was curly girl. It recommends that you do not shampoo your hair - it strips the natural oils that help manage frizz. Instead you condition only, scrubbing your scalp to remove any buildup. I use only a plain cheapie gel on my hair, put the top-most layer up a bit in clips, form a few curls around my fingers, and then airdry. I don't need any silicone smoothing products and my hair looks fine all day.

Naturally curly hair is always best if you just run your fingers through it and add a styling product. Brushing or blowdrying curls makes it frizzy. You might want to try using a diffuser on it, it is made for curly hair, and attaches to your blowdryer. Or maybe you should invest in a flat iron, and straighten it out for a different look

Straighten it. Walgreens has a really good straightener its from conir and its black and yellow. Go on walgreens.com and i'm sure you'll find it. Also it takes a while to figure out how to straighten it. Take your time and do all of your hair and go over your hair 2-3 times. good luck!

I also agree to check out tips on here for hair straightening.. to even tame it a little bit.. the you might not have to use mousse or gel everyday if you don't want to.. definitely I would never blow dry it unless you were trying to straighten it also they make hair straighteners out there it's a flat iron that you could straighten your hair that way.. if you don't want to have to use chemicals on it..

my best bet is that if you dont want any product in your hair while having it down or whatever, straighten it. make sure you get a straghtner with a ceramic iron. those work much better then the regular ones. they dont dry upor damage your hair and they actually give more moisture to your hair and leave your hair feeling silky smooth and weightless . i would go to your local wal-mart or target and pick one up they work great!

I have naturally curly hair. I use Pantene shampoo for curly hair and Pantene Curl Revive conditioner, it comes in a tub. It really helps with the dryness. When I get out of the shower I use Paul Mitchell Quick Slip to tame the frizz and Paul Mitchell Round Trip to define the curls. I put them on in that order while my hair is wet. I finger style my hair while wet and then after it has dried for about 10-15 mins, use the dryer to just fluff it a bit.

Layers are best. If not the top weighs down and gets flat. I have have chin length now, but have also had bra strap length hair. Just remember not to mess with your hair too much because it gets frizzy very easily. And remember to get layers. A must for curly hair!!!

Oh and yes straightening your hair can and will "fry" the hair, but using a serum before you use your heat products will protect it from drying out/damaging the hair cuticles. there could be two issues as to why your hair goes poofy:

I know this may sound weird to you since you're a guy but here's my advice..

1. the straightener you are using is no good. if you are willing to invest into a quality straightener that'll do any job, look for CERAMIC flat irons.

2. use an anti frizz, sleek serum (you can go walmart or something and pick something...go with a girlfriend or ask someone there)

well you could put it up in chopsticks!

What i do because i am extremely untalented with chopsticks i put my hair in a ponytail then, i grab a ponytail holder and then i grab my hair and swirl it around where i put it for the ponytail then i wrap the hair surrounding the ponytail with another ponytail holder, then get your two chopsticks and then place them in the circle bun.

Or you could do pig tail buns with chop sticks! Same principal with the single only you put one chopstick in one bun and the other in the other one......But there ya go!

Try Relaxing it, Blow dry, Japanese straitening, extensions, braids. I suggest to relax it, I hear Japanese straitening is very good. Extensions are cool, or if not just try to leave your hair curly, you can put your hair in braids while your hair is moist then blow dry it slightly, try it when you come out of the shower. I usually for work put my hair up in a clip....and let curls fall down around it...also put some mouse or some gel in it and make the curles a little tighter and it won't be as frizzy. If you cut your hair then it will go into tight-to-the-head-curl mania!Hair that is super curly needs to have length so it the length will weigh the hair down some and help straighten it out. They just came out with a fabulous new straightening iron. In stead of blow drying your hair and THEN straightening it you can straighten it while its wet! Also good hair products and best i have found for my hair after a lot of expense tried and testing is John frieda range conditioner is to dye for never had soft hair before also shamppo hair serum. well the best advise i can give you is to try different styles and see how it looks and you can maybe wear half of it down and get away with that but it all depends on what your dress looks like because you hair has to complement your dress and not collied with it so be careful on how you style your hair and congrats on your wedding......good luck

I know this seems really silly and stupid, but I did this just moments ago.

Your hair doesn't need to be wet for this, but you need to rinse with water and conditioner.

Take some vinegar, 3/4 water 1/4 vinegar. Pour it over your head, over every strand.

Leave it on for several minutes, then rinse it out, and use a really good, but gentle, conditioner.

Your hair will not stink. The vinegar washed all the gunk out of your hair that builds up over the years.

Imagine this. You are a coal miner. You have been a coal miner for your entire life, with not a single bath or shower. Your skin is oozing with black gunk and your skin can't breath. Now imagine that your hair was clogged with all that disgusting stuff. The vinegar cleans it all out.

All I do right now is put some Garnier leave-in conditioner in my hair, along with a little gel too keep it from frizzing even more... But I can really only find a few styles: pony tail, down, or the top part back. My hair is almost down to my hips when you pull it straight out, but curly it's just past my shoulders. My curls are REALLY tight, and are getting tighter over the years.

Oh, and I'm not a big fan of spending an hour and a half with a straightening iron! :D

do you ever use a diffuser? they are god's gift to curly haired people. my hair isn't nearly as long as yours, but i usually leave it down or pull some pieces from the front and bobby pin them in back, kind of a hippy-ish look. pigtails look cute without looking too young, especially if yours are longer. i use garnier smoothing milk instead of leave in conditioner and it works wonders. but i say embrace your curls and don't straighten them unless you want a change for a day or a big event. i love my curly hair. also, you could try getting some long layers to give it more volume if it is weighed down on top. yay for curly girlies!

you could spend money to get your hair chemically straightened. this usually lasts quite a while, even though it's expensive.

if not, just experiment with different products/accessories! you can try jeweled pins in your hair, or different kinds of claw clips... maybe tie it in a messy knot or a sleek bun instead of that everyday ponytail... with practice and creativity you can create your own styles.

Erm... you could try bunches or buying a straightening cream and using hair straighteners so that with straight hair you have a lot more choices of style for it. John frieda frizz ease spray is fantastic... i buy it nearly all of the time and have used it alot even if my hair is straight it goes kinky and fly away when i wake up in the morning so i spray it on my hair evenly and brush it through and it goes i would say perfectly thin and straight but just keep searching for good products that you know you can trust and ask around.

Oh!! and also you could buy a summer protection spray for your hair it doesnt dry your hair out as quick as it would without using the spray.

start french-braiding you hair directly above you left [or right] eye. french-braid it diagonally across your head till its at the base of your neck on the opposite side. put the rest in a side ponytail. it works really well [and looks really cute] w. curly hair.

lol amsay our kind of hair can't do layers we both have pretty curly frizzy hair and it wont look good. half up half down look is also known and a 1/2 ponytail. I did itto you once and you said you hated it. The dry hair is probably from all the clorhine from swim team practice. use Ultra Swim shampoo and conditioner. the frizziness in your bangs learn to love it. i've tried EVERYTHING for my frizziness nothing really helps except your straightener WHICH I NEED FOR PICTURE DAY!!!!! bangs for curly hair isnt really a good look. you could straighten the bangs and add hairspray for it to hold.

the classic half up half down is cute, and a headband is in style too. try a side part, then put it in a low ponytail to the side.

I have the same problem too and i cannot do anything but to rebond it every 6 months too.For me,my hair is super frizzy(like maggie mee)Hence,if i do not straighten it,it looks awful.Even the hairdressers admit that i have to do rebonding as my curls are horrid and perming is out of the question for me.

For your case,if your curls are nice,maybe you can try to grow your curls back for a change of style.Otherwise,if your face shape is not too broad and round, you can also go for a short crop.This may freshen up your look.Maybe you can check with your stylist regarding this.

i have curly hair and i use black and beautiful products they have a good texturising gum or try wella. any who what i do is wash and use a really really good conditioner..more intensive the better!! then rinse really well then run through some wax( my preferred choice. and leave it to dry before i go to bed when i wake up it in real curly and i have done the grand total of nothing! you then pull down the curl by adding a serum or more wax depends on the weather if damp or raining use wax as it is heavier. that is all there is to it remember condition well and wax!!

I also have naturally curly frizzy hair with straight spots etc - I use Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner (moisturizing - or extra moisture - something along those lines) then I use a hair serum like John Frieda anti-frizz then I use "TIGI curls rock "(it's kinda like a lotion/gel for your hair) I get the Curls Rock from the "salon" in my local Wal-mart but you could probably call around to find out where to find it close to you. I usually don't blow dry my hair and I do NOT wash it everyday(usually every other )- in the winter when I have to dry my hair before going outside I definitely use a diffuser - it basically keeps the "wind" from the hair dryer from separating your curls- because just using the regular hairdryer is like running your fingers through curly hair - it just makes it bigger and frizzier - hope I helped

I would get my hair permed.it makes the curls the same size. Then i would mousse it in the morning. My friend had curly hair and the curls were different sizes so she got it permed to all the same size and runs a brush through her hair and mousses it. It looks great but doesn't take long at all.

Well my momz Italian and popz is Black... hence the name. But the best thing is to stay out of the regular hair products or salons and only mess with the black ones. Lusters Pink lotion shampoo %26amp; conditioner is good and can tame your hair. It leaves a good shine too. Im a guy so I dont know everything but my sisters never go wrong with products for "sistaz"
