Hiring Managers?

What is your perception of a person of color how is wearing a hair style or head dress that is specific to their culture?

I have been wearing my hair 'natural' meaning I don't straighten my hair with heat or chemicals for the past 5 years. It is always in it's natural kinky/curly/wavy state. The way God made it.

I've been on some job interviews lately and thought that I did fairly well. I have yet to receive a job offer. I suspect that the interviewer thinks I don't comb my hair because it's not straight? I'm not sure how to handle this.

As an employer what is your view?

It would never hurt to ask the employer, after you have been denied, what there is that you can do to better yourself, so that you will find a job. Ask them why they turned you down, because you are genuinely interested in changing whatever it is that needs to be changed in order to ge tthe job.

Also you can see what the other employees are dressed like there. And then you will have a good idea.

I am a HR manager and the owner of Get Notices Resume. You need to look clean, professional, and groomed. I閳ユ獡 not sure what you mean by 閳ユ笜atural閳? but does that describe you?

Hiring Managers?

I think that I would be uncomfortable with a candidate who wore a head dress. My reasoning is that (TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE) head dresses are worn for cultural (not religious) purposes. I would think it was inappropriate for a Caucasian person to wear a hat, so I would apply that same logic to a person of color. I wouldn't be influenced by hair style as long as it was visibly clean. If you think your hair is a detriment, you should grow it long enough to be pulled back.
